Engineering Lab

Appliance test matrices that convert sourcing questions into verifiable checkpoints.

Viking uses the engineering lab as the decision center for category launches. The lab connects product options with performance observations, pilot build history, packaging review, and buyer-facing documentation.

Why the lab changes how an RFQ is answered

A conventional appliance quote often lists capacity, finish, and target price. Viking adds the missing engineering questions: Which parts are shared across SKUs? Which claims are final and which need pilot confirmation? Which packaging conditions matter for e-commerce? Which service parts need names before the distributor publishes a catalog? This approach helps prevent a low-cost sample from becoming an expensive launch correction. It also gives procurement teams a clearer basis for comparing suppliers, because the quote includes risk controls rather than only optimistic specifications.

Thermal and airflow review

Cooling platforms are assessed with cabinet, door, compressor, refrigerant, airflow, and label decisions connected in one record.

Water and leakage review

Dishwasher programs document spray, pump, seal, drying, and service risks before retail commitments are made.

Heat and user-safety review

Cooking and countertop products are checked for thermal consistency, housing temperature, controls, and instruction clarity.

Send your specification sheet for an engineering gap review.

Viking will identify missing test conditions, unclear claims, and data that should be confirmed before pilot approval.
